Many of you will be familiar with me, I am Mrs Akram a Primary Teacher who has worked at Kelvin Grove since 2006. This year I have taken on a new role at Kelvin Grove as the EAL (English as an additional language) lead. I have the responsibility of identifying children who require additional support to develop their English skills.
Mrs Lesniak our EAL Teaching Assistant will support the children in and out of class. The children will participate in a range of activities.
We have children in our school who are highly skilled in languages other than English. Mrs Lesniak will have the pleasure of training 10 children as Young Interpreters. The Young Interpreters will be able to support the children and families of Kelvin Grove.
Every Monday afternoon Mrs Lesniak and I will be available to meet with you and discuss your child’s educational needs or any other information. If you would like to meet Mrs Lesniak or myself please contact the school and book an appointment.
