Science week was buzzy this week. In Year 3 we continued our learning about plants and became biologists as we dissected flowers to identify the male and female parts of a flower. Now I am left with the carpel and the stamen. I took care removing the petals to reveal the male and female reproductive parts of the flower. We made the flower parts and used them to role-play the pollination story. We conducted an investigation on seed dispersal. We decided to find out which seed could move the furthest away from the parent plant using wind as the movement method.
Year 3 become fantastic scientists
