On our fun packed day we continued from The Discovery Museum to The Quayside.
Here we sketched views from the riverside. Sketching pencils at the ready we drew the bridges and buildings along The Tyne.
It was tricky including all of the supporting triangles in our Tyne Bridge sketches.
The Sage and The Baltic are very contrasting shapes. The Sage is fluid and smooth. The Baltic is square and solid.
It was important to get the proportions correct and to include all the little details.
We began to think about shading and colours ready for turning the sketches into watercolours once we returned to school.
It was a fabulous sunny day! We rounded it off with an ice pop back at school to cool us down and think about all the fantastic things we had seen and leant.
