Wellbeing Friday Week 7:

Suggested activities:

Dinosaur Dig Excavation! Hide some shells, pebbles and stones in your garden or during a walk! Go on an archaeological dig! Use a stick or a teaspoon to carefully dig in the mud. Can you uncover any interesting stones or shells? Remember to scrape away the mud carefully so you do not damage any precious finds!

Wellbeing Friday Week 8:

Suggested activities:

Dino Eggs – Make a DIY Toy Surprise with Baking Soda! From the little dino egg, pop a toy inside and then, with a little vinegar, watch it dissolve and reveal the surprise.

Ingredients:

  • 1 x 4lb box of Baking Soda (makes 8-10 eggs)
  • Miniature dinosaur toys
  • A large bowl
  • Water
  • Vinegar
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Spray bottle for vinegar (optional)

Directions

  1. Add Baking Soda to the bowl.
  2. If desired, add several drops of food coloring.
  3. Slowly add water in small amounts and mix until the desired consistency is reached; mixture should be damp and mold-able but not too wet.
  4. Place some dough in your hand, then lay the dinosaur toy on top.
  5. Cover the dinosaur with more baking soda mixture and then form it into an egg shape, tightly securing the dinosaur inside.
  6. Lay your dino eggs on a baking sheet to dry overnight.
  7. Chip away at the egg or use vinegar to dissolve the shell.

Watch them hatch!
